There has been alot of excitement regarding the newly launched Madaraka express with the seats being fully booked upto four days in advance. However, this is set to change from July as Kenya Railways announced that it is going to increase the frequency of trains ferrying passengers from Mombasa to Nairobi.
On a daily basis, three trains will transport passengers from Mombasa to Nairobi, the other three to ferry passengers from Nairobi to Mombasa.
The first train from Mombasa will depart at 8.00am making stopovers at various stations such as Voi, Mtito Andei. The other trains, which will be express from Mombasa to Nairobi, will depart from Mombasa at 9.00am and 3.00pm.
This is set to boost tourism at the Coast region.
