World`s Largest Lithium ION Battery

Tesla is going to build the world`s largest Lithium ion battery in Australia within one hundred days for an approximated cost of $50 million or for free. This is among other measures the Australian government is taking to take care of the country`s perennial power outages. The project will be undertaken in conjunction with a French energy company Neoen.

The battery will stabilise the network at all times and will provide back-up power if there is a shortfall. The batteries will store energy wind energy from Neoens wind farm located in Jamestown.
