In many a fire outbreaks, the cause has been an explosion by a faulty gas cylinder. Well, the Government has come with an initiative to ensure that faulty and half filled gas cylinders never see the light of day into the markets. Oil and gas marketers will be required to track refill, distribution and usage of gas cylinders thus monitoring cooking gas usage and movement.
The Business Daily reports that this will also boost Government`s efforts to crackdown on cartels that takes advantage of the customer and supply half filled and defective gas cylinders which not short changes the customers but also greatly endangers their lives
The trackers will their own frequencies identification numbers in addition to mobile premium services. This will enable the Government to track the gas cylinders from a refill station to the consumer and back.
