We own Telkom Kenya after the state acquired it from Helios for Kshs. 6.09 billion. This is shown by documentation shared in parliament of the as many expenditures incurred in the later hours of the outgoing government.
Telcom Kenya, the third largest telecommunication company, has been losing subscribers to it's competitors. Data shows that it has lost its subscriber base by over 19.1% from the year 2019 with Airtel and Safaricom making gains over the same period.
Helios is just but one of the same investors who have left the Kenyan market. Essar, Zain and Vivendi are some of the investors who have left the Kenyan market in recent years.
