No Cash For SGR Ticket

In a notice posted on their social media platforms, the Kenya Railways made announcement as to the change of mode of payment acceptable by the corporation.

You will not be allowed to pay in cash to use the SGR for your travelling needs. The Madaraka will go cashless starting February 1st.

The notice read in part, "We wish to notify our customers and the general public that effective February 1, 2023, we will no longer be accepting cash for the purchase of tickets at all Madaraka Express Passenger Service stations," the notice reads in part.''

It further advises that you utilise Mpesa, Debit and/ or Credit card to make your payments. This has not gone down well with many Kenyans as seen on the comment's section of the announcement on twitter.
