Many are those who complain about the battery life of their cell phones or wish the battery would go on a few more hours and most of us will never even be satisfied with the performance of legendary Nokia 3310 battery. Sometimes the battery just decides to let you down when you are about to tweet or press the send the button. How about a battery that you would use on and on without the worry of going off? Well, researchers at the University of Washington have come up with a simple cell phone .
A line in the paper they published states, `Our system optimizes transmission and reception of speech while simultaneously harvesting power which enables the battery-free cellphone to operate continuously.' When you speak through your phone there are tiny vibrations that are generated through the phones` speakers and microphone. These are translated into motion with the help of an antennae of which converts them into analogue radio signals recognisable at the base station. Power is not required to charge any component.
The difference of this phone with the rest is that it use analogue encryption of voice as opposed to digital encryption used by other phones. With this technology, very little energy is required to transmit calls and messages.
The phone is crafted out of readily available material. It uses a single button to switch between receiving and sending calls. It has a simple keypad with 0-9 digits plus the *,& and # buttons. It does not have a speaker hence it uses a headphone.
Mobile phones are the most depended upon devices making it one you would not need worry about the battery. Do you love this idea? Get more information and a video on the same here.
