Kenyans are set to enjoy lower power bills for the month of September. After a six year surge in Electricity bills, costs is set to go down by overly a fifth. The forex charge levy is normally adjusted by The Energy Regulatory Commission on a monthly basis to reflect the performance of the Kenyan shilling in the currency markets. Business Daily Africa reports that the shilling has been on an upward trend for the last month against the US Dollar. 

This will caution consumers against an earlier rise in bills which was brought about by fuel levy. This is a levy charged on your monthly bills depending on the amount of power generated into the grid by diesel generators
