The kisumu county government has sent out an advertisement for construction of an integrated waste management plant.

The tender which is open to both local and international bidders familiar with waste management, follows the successful relocation of the old Kachok dumping site to Kasese waste management centre in Muhoroni.
The bidder is required to finance, design, build and operate the plant on a collaborative basis for a period of an agreed concession period. The plant upon construction should be able to convert waste into energy, fertilizers and building materials.
