Cement prices drops In Kenya

Cement was retailing at between Kshs. 800 - Kshs. 1000/-. However, this past month has seen a drop in cement prices attributed to availability of clinker
The prices of major construction materials shot up earlier this leading to developers pausing some of their projects. The high costs were as a result of global supply constraints resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine - Russian war which raised coal prices; a material used to make clinker.

The Kenya National bearae of statistics shows that consumption of cement increased by over 18% despite the high prices. It is expected that the consumption of cement will go even higher with continued drop in the price of cement.

What a relief. How is the situation in your locality?
